Oh gosh. I need to upgrade my camera. I've still just got an Xsi, and I can only bump up the ISO to 1600, and as Rebels are notoriously known for, at 1600 it produces noise that makes the picture almost unusable (even with good post processing).
I thought about getting the 550...but I am a bit tired of entry level dslrs. I feel I am ready for an upgrade. *sigh* But full frames are so dang expensive, and with the economy how it is (There aren't jobs around where I live), needless to say I don't have a lot of money.
You can go semipro without fullframe. Fullframe is hardly ever needed, but often wanted still, for unknown reasons Go through what you need, and go from there
I think having a full frame is more of a status symbol for most people, to be honest. But, really, I could just shove a battery grip on my Xsi and people would be more impressed by it. Haha.
I'm using a white Pentax K-x, and it gives me less attention in crowds, which is nice for photography People don't care if I point at them, or just don't look at me since they don't see a black camera So it's sad that the new Pentax K-5 isn't available in color I could still use the K-x though for stuff where I want less attention
I love it!

The Canon EOS 550D (Rebel T2i / Kiss X4 Digital) goes to 6400 and "Hi expansion" up equal to 12800
*sigh*
