I'm a photography addict. I want to study photojournalism next year, until then I'll travel and photograph a lot. Here on dA I put stuff I like or think is funny or just weird, not just the images I believe to be my absolute best photographs.

The Numbers are In! The Last Weigh-In Done (update

Wed May 20, 2009, 8:40 AM
  • Mood: Exhilarated
  • Listening to: Various artists
  • Eating: Healthy!
  • Drinking: Water
Update: I forgot to add the measurements. Added now!

If you don't know what this is about, read my previous journal first, it's here.

So now the end of my period at this place is over. The first weigh-in was wednesday three weeks and one day ago, so this is basically the result of three weeks of working out a lot and eating right, and no candy, chocolate or soda etc.. And it really hasn't been that hard.

A lot of the reason for that is this place. The only focus here is to change your lifestyle, and everyone is backing you up and everything is right for you to do just that, so it's much easier than at home, here you choose to do the workout that's planned 95% of the time. And the food is ready made etc.. It's a good place to get a kick start on getting into shape and changing your life.

So, the numbers *drumroll*

My age is 30, my height is 183cm. These numbers is first weigh-in, then measurements.

BMI:

Then: 43.5

Now: 39.5

Difference: 4

Fat Mass:

Then: 57 kg

Now: 51.2 kg

Difference: 5.8 kg

Fat Free Mass:

Then: 88.6 kg

Now: 81.2 kg

Difference: 7.4 kg

Total Body Water:

Then: 64.8 kg

Now: 59.4 kg

Difference: 5.4 kg

This is included in Fat Free Mass, which means I've lost 2 kg of muscle mass.

Weight:

Then: 145.6 kg

Now: 132.4 kg

Difference: 13.2 kg

Stomach:

Then: 139 cm

Now: 130.5 cm

Difference: 8.5 cm

Waist:

Then: 128 cm

Now: 116 cm

Difference: 12 cm

Hips:

Then: 132.5 cm

Now: 126 cm

Difference: 6.5 cm

This reduction is way too fast, but I haven't been eating too little or working out more than I should have done here, it's just the effect this total change has had. I've gone from mostly just sitting still eating unhealthy (though not too big meals) to working out a lot (several times a day) and eating right.

when I get home my program will be more normal, a walk in the morning before breakfast, then a work out in the evening 3-5 times a week, so it will be slower. I'll also be eating a little chocolate from time to time and having a Coca-Cola every now and then :P Here I've had none of that to get a bigger kick start.

So now when I get home, I'll be out a lot more, also photographing more, so hopefully there will be more photographs up, hopefully good, better, ones as well :)

So how has this left me, except for a lot lighter? I feel much better. Everything is much easier. My stamina is up a lot, I can run now \o/ When I've worked out hard or walked up a hill to a mountain top my breath calmes down fast and I don't feel totally exhausted. Now I can do those things I've been wanting to do, finally! And that's what I'll do when I get back home :)

I'll also weigh-in on a weight scale at home to check where it's at now, since they're probably not the same, the one at home and the one here, and then I won't weigh-in before the end of August.

To some this may seem like a lot of equipment, but it's not. Also, most of these items are really old lenses, so they don't cost a lot. I love the old stuff, and quite a bit of it works great, an almost all of it is metal, so the construction quality is as good as it gets, forget about the pro stuff made today like Nikon G and Canon L and Pentax DA*, the old stuff will outlast it by many decades :) Check out eBay, and you'll see :)
